On June 14th, 1777, the Second Continental Congress adopted the flag of the United States. President Wilson proclaimed June 14th to be Flag Day in 1916.
While not an official federal holiday, folks in Adel will be treated to the sight of flags around town today thanks to the work of our Lions Club members, Boy Scouts and their families, and the support of community members.
